Repository Overview:
Acquires, conserves, studies, and interprets artifacts and documents pertaining to Native American prehistory and history, with particular emphasis upon the Prescott Region. The museum houses collections of prehistoric and contemporary pottery, prehistoric jewelry and stone artifacts, and has an outstanding collection of basketry and kachina dolls, mostly from the Southwest; a research library collecting archaeology and ethnography; and the archives of southwestern artist, Kate Cory.

The museum building was constructed by the Civil Works Administration in 1935.
